While there were not many magazine reviews of the truck in 2011, there was testimony from an owner on a Ford Truck forum after one year of ownership. ""The interior layout is nice, and Ford seems to have stepped up on the quality of materials too. Love how big and spacious it is inside too. Being able to sync my phone for music and phone calls is awesome. The navigation system, in my opinion, works well. Whether I'm towing an 18' open trailer with my race car on it, or a 28' enclosed trailer with my race car and tons of other gear, this thing just tows and tows. The power to go up the hills, even in 6th gear, and maintain speed is awesome. The engine is awesome. It's got plenty of get up and go. It gets good gas mileage for lugging around 8K lbs.""
For consignment, a Ford F350 Lariat 4x4 crew cab short bed pickup truck with a title verified 152,193 actual miles. It has the 6.7 liter Powerstroke Diesel onboard, known for their torque and towing power, as the happy Ford customer talks about. And interior space? If you have a crew or a family of five, they are going to be very comfortable in this well maintained rig.
Exterior
In the early 2000's, the trend towards bigger and bolder grilles took hold and by 2011, grilles became the dominant features on full sized trucks, including our White Platinum Pearl F350 here, which is fronted almost completely in chrome, both plastic and steel. It sets the tone for a big truck with large panels and a tall cabin with decidedly vertical features that include the large trailer side mirrors, the door handles, and the upright tail lights that wrap the rear fender. Running boards temper the monstrous height of the truck, augmented by the 20-inch black wheels borrowed from a 2019 F350 Sport. Other contrasting black features include tinted windows, rain guards, and the smooth tonneau on the bed. Out back, the big bumper carries a tow hitch and electrical harness, and a sunroof and cab lights reside up top. Despite the mileage, this pampered truck shows no glaring imperfections on the exterior!
Interior
Charcoal black molded plastic door panels have ample storage and are accented with a platinum panel and robust door pull. Use the A-pillar handle to climb aboard and you'll find charcoal leather seats in good shape with some wrinkles on the driver's side but the rest are in great condition including the back bench, super clean and configured for three occupants who will have ample leg and head room and their own assist from a pull handle on the B-pillar. The steering wheel is awash with thumb controls for various functions and the dash is a simple two gauge layout with center info screen and four small horizontal gauges across the top, a favored design that would stay with F350's for at least another 10 years. A large screen occupies the center stack accented by columns of plastic woodgrain and is the control center for the backup camera, nav, and AM/FM/CD radio. The climate control panel falls below that and is simple in design and the center console has four cup holders over low pile black carpet that is in fine shape, protected by WeatherTech mats. The headliner also presents nicely around the sunroof cutout.
Drivetrain
Under the hood presenting as driver quality is the heart of the beast, a 6.7 liter Powerstroke Diesel rated at 390 horsepower, (and notably, around 700 lb-ft of torque!), fuel injected and pushed into motion by the 6R140 6-speed automatic transmission which splits power front and rear, both with 3.55 gears. Our consignor notes that a new DEF pump, new AC compressor and condenser and a new heater core have been installed. And fitting for a truck with a Super Duty truck with a Powerstroke, power disc brakes are on all four wheels with new rear backing plates and brakes.
Undercarriage
Meaty components underneath are subject to typical surface rust, some grease, and even a spattering of mud. There is a body brace that surrounds a wire harness suffering from some pitted surface rust, but structurally, everything seems sound underneath. We note new S&B body mount bushings and new crossmembers. A single exhaust carries an original muffler and sends gases back to exit through a chrome splitter behind the rear wheel. Suspension consists of radius arm and coil springs up front and heavy duty leaf springs in the rear.
Drive-Ability
Acrophobia sufferers need not apply. The perch is high in the sky and affords an interesting perspective on cars below you and their occupants. But I digress. This rough and tumble modern work truck provides a comfortable and roomy cabin and enough power to get it moving at a respectable clip while possessing the ability to tow a race trailer, long camper, farm equipment, or just about anything you want. A folding mirror and sliding rear window are not working but all other functions including lights, radio, camera, and brakes work flawlessly, and this truck is ready to be called into service. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
It's a bruiser and can get the job done, or a cruiser and allow a comfortable ride so high that if you're ever stuck in traffic, fantasies of driving OVER it would not be unwarranted, or advised, by the way. But if you need a vehicle that can tow, plow, and tow your show car or race car, this F350 is up to the task.
