"2008 Ford Mustang GT C500 Convertible
""With the C-500 body kit, Cervini's Auto Designs became its own car modification facility, as you could drop off your S197 Mustang and pick it up later once the Cervini's team was through modifying it into a scooped and sidepiped stallion. This tradition continues with the Stalker Mustang body kit, which consists of no less than 10 unique pieces, all of which are available separately. For those who want the show and go factor, Cervini's offers the Super Stalker package, which bolsters the Stalker body system with a Ford Racing Performance Parts/Whipple supercharger upgrade, as well as a Wilwood 14-inch front disc brake package. An optional rear brake upgrade is available. The supercharger setup takes your Mustang's 300 factory horses and raises that number to 475 at the rear wheels."" MotorTrend, Jan, 2008
For consignment, a 2008 Ford Mustang GT C500 convertible with a title verified 10,685 actual miles. This is a one owner car that began life as a Mustang GT, then went under the knife at Cervini in 2008, then upgraded in 2009, 2011, and 2013, resulting in a cosmetic and performance enhanced beast that our consignor says has never been exhibited at car shows. Well, it might be time to exercise this thoroughbred and get it out of the stable.
Exterior
Cervini's C-series body kit was installed early on changing the bumper, grille, spoiler, side scoops and adding side exhaust, side skirts, and the infamous Stalker hood. It was then that the 20-inch American Racing wheels were added carrying 35 series ZR rated tires. Cervini's ""Shelby style"" tail light configuration wasn't added until 2013, the same time the Raxiom smoked projector headlights were mounted. A painted styling bar arches over the car behind the front seats while a dramatically raked windshield really becomes evident when the black canvas top is down. Two oval exhaust tips make an appearance at the end of shrouded side pipes on both sides of the car, in effect lowering the car visually and this stance is sustained by the extensions on the rear, even as the car has a slight front rake. Imperfections include numerous scuffs on the front air dam, slight damage near the lower grille, scuffs under the rockers, a missing stud for the rear spoiler, and various scratches and chips.
Interior
Despite the exterior transformation, the interior is rather tame in comparison, housing Ford's efficient and clean GT palette that begins on simple black door panels with the perforated inserts and textured plastic armrests. CERVINI is embroidered on the black leather bucket seats which show very little use and provide side support around the tuck and roll style inserts, while in back, two deep seats mirror the design. Up front, the beefy steering wheel frames the blue back lit gauges with tach and speedometer flanking the smaller operational meters. The center stack is clean and flush, home to the Shaker 500 AM/FM/6 CD radio and triple knob A/C panel. The star of the interior may be the white handled Hurst shifter that rises from the center console and invites the driver to take hold. To finish the interior, black carpet covers the floor cleanly and the trunk is also spotless with gray flannel panels to dress it.
Drivetrain
Speaking of star of the show, changes to the 4.6 liter 3 valve V8 began in 2009 and includes a Ford Racing HO Whipple supercharger, an SCT Xcal2 tune, a cold air intake, and a Bosch water pump. This results in the expected and consignor stated 475 horsepower helped by an upgraded fuel pump and 39 pound injectors. All that power is routed through the TR3650 5-speed manual transmission to the Ford 9 inch in back with 3.55 gearing and TracLoc. Wilwood brakes are called into action, equipping the power disc brakes with high performance stopping power. The polished supercharger sits atop a clean engine and environs.
Undercarriage
The surface rust on the axle and driveshaft is inconsequential, especially with all the colorful upgrades underneath.Kooks headers lead to high flow cats and Pypes mufflers after which the exhaust switches directions to head sideways, exiting in front of the rear wheels. That base suspension has been enhanced with Koni shocks and struts along with fatter sway bars and a 3 link with a panhard bar. In general, the underside is super clean and dry.
Drive-Ability
If someone blindfolded us and put us in the front seat, we would think we were in a nice GT with an aggressive hood up front. Then we turn the key and the car provides clues, through its very healthy exhaust note, that this is no ordinary GT. As the ride begins, it becomes obvious that there's been some tweaking going on as it handles a bit tighter, accelerates a bit quicker, and turns a few more heads. With the exception of the CD player, all other functional items on the car operate as they should, and this E-ticket ride is over in a blink of an eye. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Cervini Mustangs are assigned a specific serial number just as other special editions are numbered and cataloged. As one of the less common modified Mustangs, C500's make very nice show cars, especially at those annual Ford and Mustang gatherings that happen all over the country. Here's a heavily modified, low mileage version with just about every performance enhancing item in the Cervini catalog, and a few upgrades even beyond that! Want a GT but also want to be different at the same time? The C500 is your answer!
