Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to present this 2001 Ford F150 Lightning. This unit is #4012 of 6381 produced in 2001 and comes with its SVT letters and plaque. Introduced in 1993, the 1st gen Lightning was produced for just 3 model years until 1995. For those who might be unaware, the Ford SVT Lightning is a high-performance version of the F-150, which Fords Special Vehicle Team (SVT) put their magic touch on. Intended as a competitor for the Chevrolet 454SS, the SVT Lightning received extensive modifications to the front and rear suspension and frame, as well as a serious power bump over mere mortal F-150s. After a brief hiatus, Ford released its second generation of the SVT Lightning for the 1999 model year. This new generation was powered by a supercharged version of Fords potent 5.4L V8 that produced 360 hp and was mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission from the F-150. The truck was factory-equipped with SVT-tuned dampers and springs as well as front and rear stabilizer bars. Stopping power is provided by power four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. The cab features a 60/40 split bench seat upholstered in Medium Graphite Alcantara with black leather inserts, and embroidered SVT logos accent the backrests. Amenities include air conditioning, aluminum wheels, cruise control, driver and passenger airbags, power-adjustable drivers seat with lumbar support, power locks, power steering, power windows, high performance radial tires, overhead storage compartments, and a cassette stereo with a six-disc CD changer. The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a white-dial 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges that include a boost gauge, coolant temperature, oil pressure and fuel level. This bad boy has been treated to an upgraded 5.4L V8, which features JE Pistons and Rings, Scat connecting rods, ARP 2000 hardware, Patriot heads and cams (with adjustable cam gears), had its mid-intake plumbed for a Nitrous Express NOS system (but, for the nervous out there, according to the owner, its never been used), a new lower pulley with interchangeable rings, 60 lb/hr injectors, Caltrac traction bars, Phantom gauges, SCT 2400 MAF (with SCT tuner), PSP Cold Air Intake, Kooks long tube headers, high flow catalytic convertors, and dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. This Lightning is a beast - dont let someone else beat you to it!
