"1994 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Shortbed Pickup
The development of the fourth generation C/K began in the early 1980s, with design operations headed by General Motors Truck and Bus Group. In comparison to its predecessor, computers took on a greater role in the development of the fourth generation C/K, with GM using computer data to develop both components and tooling for the vehicle. The second vehicle to adapt the GMT platform nomenclature, GM assigned the model line the GMT400 internal codename, replacing the tradition of monikers for its full size trucks, (i.e., Rounded Line, Action Line, Task Force, Advance Design). During the development of the GMT400 platform GM designers based their prototypes on the compact GMT325 S-series, (S10 and S15/Sonoma).
For consignment a 4th Gen C pickup that has some flossy flossy upgrades added on like snappy Butternut Yellow paint and black racing stripes. Adding to the mix are Billet Specialties wheels, a never used nitrous oxide system, a monster aluminum headed 468cibig block V8 engine, Hurst shifter, narrowed 10 bolt rear axle, and a steel cowled hood. We would never leave out the updated instrumentcluster and retro-kewl low back bucket seats to keep your butt comfy while you're hauling the mail and some ass!
Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area.*
Exterior
As a truck, the C/K was styled with straight lines to maximize space and function, but was designed to optimize its aerodynamics, improving fuel economy. Along with a flush, curved grille and front bumper, it adopted many upgrades over the Rounded-Line generation, including sedan style doors and flush window glass. Nearly 20 years after removing them from its car lines, GM removed vent windows from the C/K trucks, (the first full size trucks to delete them). This one has lightly tinted windows replacing that original glass, all surrounded by black trimmings. The horizontal rectangular dual front headlights which flank a shiny billet style ribbed grille and body matching bumper below lead the way. As we go back, a steel cowl induction hood is now replacing the original and has been dressed with miles deep painted black stripes. Car like doors with inset handles are all bathed like the rest of this beautiful truck in Butternut Yellow, taking a page from the late 1960's Chevrolet playbook. Black accenting shows again finishing off the rally stripes on the tailgate and just below is a smoothed over roll pan where the stripes dip under the body. Car-like black painted mirrors hang from either door and a tinted rear glass looks out to the bed from the cab. Behind the cab is the nicelyfinished bed in, you guessed it, more Butternut and holding a 15 gallon fuel cell, nitrous oxide bottle and a relocatedbattery. Staggered 15-inch Billet Specialties wheels, have new tires in the front in the form of 205/70R15's in front and super wide and sticky 33x21.50-15's on back. All laser straight gaps well minded throughout and no rust due seen within miles of this hairy hauler.
Interior
You could say ""Im back in the saddle again"" and it would be true in some scenarios, but not due to the color of the black and pale yellow colored interior, and all looking just near perfection. Door panels with the molded nooks and crannies and supple armrests and a padded upper in a fine mix of black and pale yellow vinyl greet us as we open the door and lead the way to the updated seating. The bench is long gone and has been replaced with low back bucket seats withsmooth black leather bolsters and slightly wide pale yellow tuck and rollcenters for the seats and back. On the hump, directly in reach of the driver is a Hurst shifter for rapid gear changes. The original rectangular black faced white lettered gauge cluster has also been updated with a blue LCD digital dashes in front of the driver and it has a black topper and lowers. An aftermarket kick ass AM/FM/CD stereo is now in so you can overcome the sound of the engine if you desire or just listen to its melodious tones. Hung from the dash to driver's right is a bevy of switches replacing the former heater/AC controller. Black carpeting covers the floors and is very clean, and above is a black tweed headliner with matching bowtie embroidered visors.
Drivetrain
Under the cowled bumped up hood now sits a 468ciengine replacing the original factory mill. On top is a Holley double pumper 4-barrel carb underneath a chromed open element round air cleaner covering. From there the fossil and air mix enters an Edelbrock intake manifold and down into the cylinders via a pair of aluminum heads. On the back is now a TH350 3-speed automatic tranny. JBA headers help with the big exhale, and on the back is a narrowed to accommodate the big tires 10 bolt Positraction equipped rear axle. Smoke 'em if ya got 'em! (And it does!)
Undercarriage
A very light peppering of surface rust, but all unremarkable. Otherwise straight stamped steel floor pans, black sprayed framework and some suspension parts which include front independent coil springs and on back is a ladder bar with coil over arrangement toadd to the mystique. Power disc braking is on front, and power drums on back. A Flowmaster exhaust takes it from the headers and blows itout the back. We note the lack of a catalytic converter in the exhaust system.
Drive-Ability
Slipping inside this pristine truck gave me a thrill just to start it. It sounds great and runs to match. Neck snapping acceleration for a truck, great bias free pounce stopping, and fine handling. I'm thinking.. "" A colt 45 and 2 Zig Zags, Skatin' on US Mags"" and that's the flossy part!"". I leaned to my right just a bit and sat way down for the low and slow part of my drive. All functions worked as they should and I went to lunch with a larger than life smile on my face. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Spending its life in the care of owners who were diligent with keeping this hauler rust free and being modded helps with the condition of this truck in spades. A nice looker, big wheels and fat and skinny tires, tinted glass and the big block V8 setup, there are not too many initiators in this truck genre you'll come across. Snap it up! All the while still retaining its factory good looks. G L A M O R O U S glamorous!! Flyin' first class. If you ain't got no money take your broke ass home!!
