1976 BMW B2 Alpina For Sale - Complete, Ground Up Nut and Bolt Restoration By Marque Specialist LMC is very proud to offer for sale 1976 BMW B2 Alpina In 1975, BMW launched the E12 528, prompting Alpina to launch its modified “B2” version. The tuned car featured a modified 230-horsepower 3.0-litre straight-six breathing through three double barrel carburettors.The Alpina B2 3-litre engine (M30) had already had its premiere at BMW in 1971, and was fitted in the E9 coupé and the E3 saloon. After the spa treatment in Buchloe with a modified combustion chamber, forged pistons and a modified crankshaft drive, the straight six produced 230 hp at 6750 rpm and 265 Nm maximum torque at 4500 rpm. This engine was now fitted to the very classic 5 Series (E12), there was a front spoiler to go with it as well as the usual deco material inside and out. This 1976 BMW B2 Alpina offered here is one of very few B2 examples produced and has benefited from fresh full nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration completed by marque experts. The body was restored, resprayed in Fjord Blue with Blue & Green Alpina Deco Stripes. The engine, gearbox, rear axle, steering, and suspension were all rebuilt. The undercarriage has been finished to the same quality as the top side, with painted floors and refinished suspension hardware. Outfitted with signature front spoilers, lightweight Alpina wheels, and period-correct striping that hints at the performance within. Inside, classic Alpina sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a bespoke Alpina instrument cluster create an environment that’s both luxurious and driver-focused. A refurbished set of factory-correct iconic 14 inch Alpina wheels are wrapped in modern radial tires. Documenting this special Alpina includes BMW Certificate, complete restoration dossier, ownership history and receipts. Produced in very limited numbers in 1976, the BMW Alpina B2 is an exceptionally rare discovery today.
