1972 Plymouth Satellite with RoadRunner trim 440 engine, Automatic transmission, Power steering Fans and aficionados of vintage Plymouths, this is a car we rarely see. We love the fuselage styling of the 72 model that gave the Road Runner a big leg-up on the competition, and the swoopy styling of this super-clean example definitely looks the part of a Mopar muscle car. This 1972 Plymouth started out as a Satellite, and someone badged it up with Roadrunner trim and hood, was a California car and has a fresh rebuilt 440 V8 4-barrel engine NOM, with less than 200 miles( we have receipts), A727 Torqueflite transmission with B&M floor shifter, and stock suspension, the legendary blue collar muscle car. That shiny Hemi Orange paint is in very nice shape and with the cascading Black stripes , chrome magnum 500 wheels , rear spoiler , hood pins/ lanyards, dual exhaust tips, gives us that sporty muscle car look. The wrap-around chrome bumpers that circle the front end and taillights were a defining feature, as is the blacked-out mesh front grille, and those Roadrunner badges/decals are in remarkable shape, too. Of course, it has the distinctive purple Beep-Beep horn! The interior is brand new correct pleated vinyl bench seats, the flanking door panels, new plush carpets, taut headliner, and unblemished dash are all in excellent condition showing off that pure 1970s look. A Stock steering wheel frames the original gauges ahead of it that are inside a woodgrain bezel, an aftermarket Retrosound stereo is replacing the original radio, aftermarket under dash gauges, and the mileage shows 50,638 is unknown. The big block runs great, with plenty of horsepower on tap and a healthy torque curve, with all dyno reading of 400 horsepower and 500 lbs of torque with the receipts totaling over $7000. All this that helps it get-up-and-go in a flash. An 4-barrel carb sits on top of an aluminum edelbrock intake, aided by the cold, dense air its fed through the big chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, chrome valve covers and MSD ignition wires while an aluminum radiator, modern battery. The power plant sounds great thanks to a brand new exhaust system. Factory power steering, brand new radial tires mean this Road Runner is a blast to drive. Call today! As always, we will consider all types of trades, and transportation is available. Why buy from us? In business since 1980, we are one of the oldest and largest midwest dealers who specializes in collector cars, modern muscle cars and imports. We normally have 50-100 collector cars in stock. All of our cars are handpicked purchases, not consignments, that have been evaluated for quality, value and checked over in our shop to assure drivability. These cars are available to look over, test drive and evaluate at our location, by appointment only, due to the extensive amount of travel it takes to find these vehicles. People frequently buy collector cars at auctions and have no idea what they are getting, often regretting the purchase due to issues of condition, driveability, paperwork, etc . We have 40+ year's experience in the automotive industry and can guide our customers through the complete purchase experience including shipping if needed. We will happily consider all types of trades including multiple trades of different types if necessary. We also will purchase restored cars and collections of cars. No projects wanted. What began as a used car store in the 1970’s soon blossomed into one of the premier classic car dealerships in the country with a showroom boasting more than 25,000 square feet. During that time, celebrities, professional athletes, movie stars and prominent businessmen were highlighting the Duffy’s satisfied customer list. That company, founded on solid Midwest values and work ethic, would become the model for what all future classic and specialty car dealerships would emulate. The “new” Duffy’s is now home to more than 60 vehicles in the same glorious showroom that brought them prominence from the 1980’s through the early 21st century. A full service automotive and detailing department meticulously tends to each vehicle ensuring a fun, sound investment opportunity for its owner.
Turn the clock to today a resurgence of that historic Duffy’s brand. Classic Enterprises that became a descendant business, realized the value of the original Duffy’s recognition and reputation. When the old name became available we jumped on it. The name, the logo and the commitment to excellence have now been resurrected and have replaced the Classic Enterprises moniker. In addition, two of the “old school” members of the original Duffy’s management team are leading the company transition along with a full sales and service staff.
While the definition of a “classic” vehicle may have changed over the years that same,” Old School” Duffy’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has not.
