This 1972 Pantera Pre-L is powered by a Ford 351 cu in (5.8 L) V8 engine producing a 330 HP. A gated manual 5 speed ZF transaxle is mated to the 351 and allows the Pantera to reach 60 MPH in just 5.5 Seconds. The recently serviced Power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes and fresh rack and pinion steering were all standard equipment as well. Newly completed $5000 heavy duty cooling system service has just been completed on this car with all new system including aluminum radiator fans and hoses. The black vinyl interior with red piping and Pantera logo floormats is in beautiful shape. Newer JVC stereo cassette radio with door speakers. Very nice removable carpeted trunk treatment in great shape. Very nice red exterior paint with blackout treatment done on the chrome trim. Pantera values have been steadily rising and with 61,000 original miles, this superb example will not last long. One of the more eclectic creations of the 1970s, the DeTomaso Pantera is a blend of Italian design with American muscle. And yet, it has remained an often overlooked classic. But with values now rising, DeTomasos are quickly becoming hot property in the classic car market. The car pictured is known as a desirable pre-L, or pre-facelift. The pre-facelift cars had more aesthetically pleasing small bumpers, as opposed to the facelifted cars large rubber bumpers. The Pantera was originally designed by the Italian design firm Ghia by American-born designer Tom Tjaarda. The Pantera is a steel unibody design, the first instance of De Tomaso using this construction technique. An interesting point is the Pantera logo included a version of Argentina's flag turned on its side with a T-shaped symbol that was the brand used by De Tomaso's Argentinian cattle ranching ancestors. Only 2061 were made in 1972. Go to our website duffys.com for more pictures, video underbodies and asking price. Any questions please call 319-366-7600 Thanks, Jon

What began as a used car store in the 1970’s soon blossomed into one of the premier classic car dealerships in the country with a showroom boasting more than 25,000 square feet. During that time, celebrities, professional athletes, movie stars and prominent businessmen were highlighting the Duffy’s satisfied customer list. That company, founded on solid Midwest values and work ethic, would become the model for what all future classic and specialty car dealerships would emulate. The “new” Duffy’s is now home to more than 60 vehicles in the same glorious showroom that brought them prominence from the 1980’s through the early 21st century. A full service automotive and detailing department meticulously tends to each vehicle ensuring a fun, sound investment opportunity for its owner.
Turn the clock to today a resurgence of that historic Duffy’s brand. Classic Enterprises that became a descendant business, realized the value of the original Duffy’s recognition and reputation. When the old name became available we jumped on it. The name, the logo and the commitment to excellence have now been resurrected and have replaced the Classic Enterprises moniker. In addition, two of the “old school” members of the original Duffy’s management team are leading the company transition along with a full sales and service staff.
While the definition of a “classic” vehicle may have changed over the years that same,” Old School” Duffy’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has not.
