Riding on a 116"" wheelbase derived from the 4-door Chevelle gave the Monte Carlo, strictly a 2-door coupe, the attractive proportions of a very long hood with a much shorter rear deck. Combining the mechanical muscle of the sporty Chevelle with similar proportions to Cadillac's Eldorado gave the Monte Carlo a popular mixture of muscle and luxury at a competitive price. Beneath that long hood is the rare 454 V8 (BCN 3963512, EC T0904CRN, CD H29) that, while unable to see the VIN derivative, we believe to be original due to all the other codes aligning perfectly.
