1969 Shelby GT500 For Sale - One Of Only 69 GT500 Convertibles With A Four Speed Manual Transmission LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Shelby GT500 Convertible muscle cars have always been the most desirable and rare amongst collectors due to their extremely low production numbers as buyers in the day rarely optioned their high performance muscle car with an open top. Examples like the Hemi Cuda convertible, LS6 Chevelle, GTO RAIV all bring 3-4x more than their coupe counterparts as most were built in such low numbers. In 1969, Shelby’s GT500 sat comfortably at the top of the pyramid of Mustang hierarchy. That model year saw the introduction of a restyled Mustang, and the GT500 received all the same changes. The car’s overall footprint increased, but the styling was markedly more aggressive. At just over $5,000 in 1969, the GT500 Convertible was the most expensive Shelby Mustang money could buy. Under the hood lay a gargantuan 428-cubic inch V-8 that was topped with a Holley four-barrel that was backed with either a close ratio four speed manual or a three-speed automatic. Inside, a roll bar, inertia-reel harnesses and special trim maintained the performance-oriented, upscale character of the GT500. Only 245 GT500 Convertibles were produced that were and of that only 69 were optioned with a four speed manual transmission.. This example offered here takes the rarity to another level being one of only 6 ever produced in Candyapple Red with Black Knit Vinyl interior. Sold new at Kasyer Motors Inc in Madison, Wisconsin on April 10th, 1969 and optioned with Black powertop, GT equipment group, Traction-Lok differential, power front disc brakes, power steering, interior decor group, Am/8- Track stereo, tinted glass, deluxe belts, color keyed racing mirrors, tachometer and trip odometer. Recently this example underwent a complete rotisserie restored by a marque specialist with no expense spared. This GT500 shows beautifully and has only test miles since completion. As many factory parts were used as possible to make this one of the finest restored Shelby Mustangs on the planet. Documenting this special Shelby convertible includes a Deluxe Marti report, Shelby invoices as well as being listed in the Shelby American World Registry. If you are looking to add an incredible example of one of the rarest Shelby convertible muscle cars ever produced, look no further! Additional Details: -
