A documented one of one example produced with its option combination, this early-production 1969 Ford Mustang GT Fastback features the top available R-Code Ram Air 428 Cobra Jet V-8 engine, factory-underrated at 335 horsepower. Power is delivered by Fords 31-spline Toploader close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission with a 2.32:1 first gear ratio and 9-inch Traction-Lok rear axle with optional 3.50:1 ratio. While its high-performance options gave the Mustang its firepower, what makes it truly rare begins with its 1 of 288 Code B Royal Maroon paint color with the Code 2A Black interior with Kiwi Vinyl Standard bucket seats, making this car one of just 11 produced for 69. Of those, 8 had the GT Equipment Group, of which 2 had the optional 3.50:1 Traction-Lok rear axle and one this car was also ordered with power steering. Other original options included rocker panel moldings, power front disc brakes, and an AM radio. Ordered through the Pittsburgh Ordering District, the Mustang was built at Fords Metuchen New Jersey assembly plant on October 22, 1968 a full 28 days behind schedule. A total nut and bolt restoration of the Mustang to concours standards was completed during the late 2000s, with the car retaining its factory-original colors and specifications. The fully restored interior duplicates the factory-original look and feel and includes the correct dash including a factory tachometer. As was the case for many hard-core factory supercars, the original engine was replaced during restoration with a professionally built and correctly dated 428 Cobra Jet engine, equipped with correct factory details throughout, including the Ram Air hood scoop, air cleaner, and rare A.I.R. emissions system. The brakes, suspension, and fuel system were all restored and rebuilt, including correct hoses, wires, and fine details including the Autolite-scripted battery. The underside of the Mustang displays proper factory-style finishes and Red Oxide primer. Goodyear Polyglas tires and Styled steel GT wheels with deleted trim rings deliver a purposeful look. A Deluxe Marti Report documents factory details and a selection of parts invoices and receipts confirm work performed to the car since 2011. A singular Mustang featuring one of Ford Motor Companys hottest engine and drivetrain combinations, this 1969 Ford Mustang GT Fastback is an incredibly collectible link to Fords legendary Total Performance years, ready to show and enjoy. Appraised value of $175,000 CAD. Canadian tax is not applicable.
