1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible Part of our Private Collection, not for sale. Bruce Springsteen previously owned this car from 1981 until Christmas of 1987 when he gifted it to Toby Scott, a recording engineer or mixer who contributed to over 18 of Springsteen's albums. The car underwent a rotisserie restoration in 2020, restoring it to the condition described in Springsteen's song "Racing in the Streets." It was delivered to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in August 2020, where it was exhibited alongside the surfboard Springsteen used to put in the car when heading to the beach in New Jersey. Documentation includes a signed letter from Springsteen confirming his ownership, a statement from his mechanic detailing the acquisition, and a photo of the license plate the car had when registered to Springsteen. Vehicle Features Equipped with a 396 CI big block V-8 engine. Has a 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. Originally painted Midnight Black during Springsteen's ownership, it was restored to LeMans Blue.
