It's obviously striking with these colors but it's much more than that! It's very well equipped with very desirable features. Making it even more interesting, it's among the first Mustangs built, nicknamed a 64 because of its early production. The early cars had a handful of differences to distinguish them from the others; read on...
EXTERIOR: Yes, it's a very pretty car! The body is really clean and straight, the doors shut effortlessly. That gorgeous color is polished smooth and glossy with only a few minor imperfections if you go looking for them. Overall, the chrome and trim is shiny and straight. The white vinyl top certainly gives it a nice pop, it's an older top good shape with a small tear towards the windshield. It's sitting pretty on a set of reproduction 14x7 chrome GT wheels with sporty white letter tires.
INTERIOR: The white interior was the perfect choice against the turquoise! The door panels and handles were replaced. The overall dash appearance is good. There's a stereo with speakers in the kick panels and 6x9s in back. A set of gauges and a tachometer were added which will come in handy when you're shifting that Hurst 4-speed. The console is very useful with a phone holder, cup holders and an armrest. The seats are in excellent shape. The white steering wheel look new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's a ""D"" code car which means it came with the 289 4 barrel engine. This one has been boosted with an Edelbrock intake and carb, along with a set of headers and MSD ignition. It's wearing some good looking finned aluminum valve covers and chrome Hi-Po are cleaner. It features a modern air conditioning system, original power steering with the remote reservoir and an upgraded power brake booster with a dual reservoir master cylinder. The cooling system appears to be fresh and in good working order. The battery is properly secured, the squirters are hooked up to the original washer fluid bag. The fender supports were chromed. Here are some unique features on the 64 : it comes with a generator instead of an alternator, there are louvers in the core support to vent the battery and the corners of the hood have a sharp edge that people were cutting their heads on, so the later models have that edge folded over.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted nicely. The weatherstrip was replaced. Inside is solid and painted black. It has a mat and the spare has a tire cover that matches.
UNDERSIDE: It appears solid and in good overall condition. The steering and suspension are working properly and were inspected. There appears to be several components replaced recently. The dual exhaust looks new and has a crossover pipe. The brakes are working great especially with the benefit of disc in front, the e-brake is hooked up. The floors are restored and solid. Looking up at the motor it is clean, it has correct starter and canister filter fuel pump. The top loader 4-speed is original with its tag still riveted to it. According to the tag the rear end came with 3.80 gears.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you the best cars within reason.
So now you see this isn't just another Mustang! The colors are absolutely striking, all the features make it very desirable and being a 64 1/2 makes it that much more interesting. Someone will really enjoy this piece of Americana!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide is my professional opinion based on my experience with these vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
