"1964 Chevrolet C10 Short Bed Pickup
The Chevrolet C-10 designation can be confusing at times, with the C-10, C-20, C-30, and then the line of K designations to throw in as well. The difference between C & K is C is 2-wheel drive, and K is 4-wheel drive. The numerical designation denotes weight maximum. 10 is 1/2 ton, 20 is 3/4 ton, and 30 is 1 ton.
For consignment and showing as a pristine nut and bolt restoration, we have a rare short bed, big back window 1964 Chevrolet C10 pickup gracing our Hallowed Halls. A snappy 2 tone exterior, custom interior, Detroit 20"" steel wheels, and showing a non verifiable 551 miles on the digital odometer, it now has a reputation as a strong runner, has an air ride kit installed, disc brakes, and overdrive. Buckle up pardner...it's gonna be a wicked kewl ride.
Exterior
Bathed in red, this truck shows very nicely and sports some white accenting side trim and a white cab on top all in show quality condition with a professionally applied ceramic coat protectant. It has the ""eyebrow"" in hood turn signals and a shiny egg crate grille with a single headlight inserted on either side with custom amber LED halo style daytime running lights. A nicely preserved bumper is just below the grille. On the b pillar of the cab is a nice ribbed piece of stainless covering most of it with a script type Custom badge in the center. The steel bed sides and tailgate are also bathed in beautiful red and the bed is like new with miles of red painted steel backing up the rarelyseen large rear cab window. A CHEVROLET badged tailgate with hidden hinges wraps up the tail end of things and is flanked on either side by chrome trimmed oval tail lights. White painted 20"" Detroit steel wheels are on all 4 corners with stainless trim rings and polished rally center caps, and we can see pristine badging throughout on the exterior.
Interior
A swing of the doors and this interior is just begging you to get in. One of a kind custom red and black vinyl, black perforated inserts with red center stripes and black trimmed venting is flanked on the sides with hip hugging red cloth and vinyl trimmed bolsters make up the seating, all very custom and very pristine. A nice body matching red paint is reserved for the dash and metal door panels which are dressed with black custom vinyl inserts with snappy red stitching. A chrome trimmed digital instrument cluster is in front of a leather and billet steering wheel atopa polished adjustable column in front of the dash. This interior has an aftermarket AM/FM Retro Sound digital stereo with AUX inputs and kick panel speakers. Some chrome ball vents are also dressing the dash, as is the controller for the Air Lift Performance air ride system with 5 customizable presets. The headliner is black vinyl surrounded by painted red steel and the floors have black carpeting. Very clean, very custom and all very nice.
Drivetrain
Now showing under the hood is a 350ci V8 topped with an Edelbrock 600cfm 4-barrel carburetor atop an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold and a mild performance cam is within. On the back is a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and a 3.70 Positraction equipped rear axle handles the tire turning duties. All looking nicely detailed, polished billet valve covers and air cleaner assembly, a Black Magic EXTREME 3,300 cfm programmableelectric fan, a polished 155 amp 1 wire alternator, and an aluminum radiator and polished billet overflow tank all help dress up the bay.
Undercarriage
Nearly perfect underneath with miles of black steel underpinnings and only light road dirt in a few areas, you can spend hours underneath just gazing in amazement. Some upgrades to the suspension where a complete Air Lift Performance 3P air ride system with dual polished compressors is on and we can see independent air bag front suspension and 3 link with airbags for the rear. Power disc braking for the upfront and power drums for the back provide the woah horsey. Taking the spent fossils out into the atmosphere are headers and a FlowMaster muffler equipped exhaust system that ends in turn down tips in front of the rear axle.
Drive-Ability
Turn the key, hear throaty exhaust, put the truck in gear and go like the wind. The truck handled very well, and the interior is ergonomically near perfect for me and my cohort test driver an we were accommodated just fine. All functions worked as designed and we took the pleasure of a second lap around the test track before callingit a day. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
A trip back in time with the iconic Chevrolet eyebrow hood, plenty of upgrades and a nice like newcustom interior. Anytime one hears a frame off you know you are going to see quality, and this truck does not disappoint in looks and quality of build. All here and all in 1964 C10 form.
