"This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was acquired by the seller in 2002, and the seller tells us that subsequent work involved rebuilding the 327ci L75 V8 with an upgraded camshaft, replacing the four-speed manual transmission, and refinishing the car in white over red. Equipment includes a replacement white convertible soft top, 15? steel wheels with three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps, power-assisted brakes, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, and concealed headlights. This C2 convertible is now offered with an owner's manual and a clean Texas title in the seller's name.
The fiberglass body was finished in Ermine White (936) at the factory and was refinished in 2004. Features include a replacement white convertible soft top as well as flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, a chrome luggage rack, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. There is overspray on the right front fender and a paint crack on the left headlamp cover, and the seller states that the retractable headlights operate slowly.
Silver-finished 15"" steel wheels feature three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps and are mounted with whitewall tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted drums.
The cabin features two bucket seats reupholstered in red, and the carpet and dashboard have also been replaced. Amenities include a heater, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 4,400 miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 327ci L75 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single four-barrel carburetor for a factory rating of 300 horsepower. The engine was rebuilt in 2002, and the seller tells us that an upgraded camshaft was installed. An Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and electronic ignition are fitted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The seller tells us that the body was removed from the frame and that corrosion was removed and the underside surfaces were refinished in 2004.
