This beautiful 1946 Chevrolet 3100 series Pick Up has just emerged from an exhaustive nut and bolt restoration performed by the talented individuals here at Triple F. We were fortunate to have started with well-preserved rust- free truck which had been kept in dry storage for more than 20 years. As the vision for this truck was to incorporate modern technology without losing the beauty of the original design, we decided to start with the foundation and work from there. We selected a new �Superior� frame and added a long list of updates including: independent front suspension, power rack and pinion steering, adjustable QA-1 coil-over shocks, tubular control arms, Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes, Currie 9� rear w/posi, and a 4-Link rear suspension. As power plants go it is hard to go wrong with a new GM 6.2L LS3 V8 with 430HP, especially when mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. The interior seating and door panels have been covered in leather along with a custom made center console which houses the A/C and heater controls, beneath the custom deep pile carpeting is a formidable layer of jute padding over a sound and heat barrier. The electronics systems including: fuse panel, dual 12V batteries, audio amplifier and equalizer components have all been neatly located beneath the seat for easy access. We retained the original vented windshield and functional cowl vent door as we feel they are original design features. We also selected a set of powder coated 17� steel wheels with wide white sidewall radials to keep with the original theme. We feel that we have accomplished our goal here, a beautiful, efficient and powerful version of the original concept and we have spent the additional time required to �dial in� all of the operational and cosmetic aspects of this fine truck.
