"1925 Ford Model TT Truck
The Ford Model TT is a truck made by Ford. It was based on the Ford Model T, but with a longer wheelbase, and a heavier frame and rear axle giving it a rating of 1 short ton. Initially the trucks were sold as a chassis and the buyer needed to fit it with whatever they wanted.
For consignment, a 1925 year of production Model TT truck chassis and custom made cab and bed. Simple but effective for getting the goods from point A to point B and shielding the driver from the elements with a wood box for the cab. This truck comes to us in barn find condition, needing not only a cosmetic redux but a mechanical one as well.

Exterior
Black painted wood spoked wheels are wrapped in air cushion solid rubber tires allowing this frame to roll down the road. A red oxide primer painted cowled hood, transverse leaf spring suspension for all the world to see along with a honeycomb radiator, and curvy front fenders above the big wheels that end in a running board/step into the cab lead the way. The cab is wood construction, the norm for these trucks as they were mainly sold as a chassis, thus allowing the buyer to custom concoct any creation the desired. This wood has been finished in green with suicide style doors. It has a forward sloping roofline with the canvas cover having succumbed to the elements. Extra side ""windows"" have been installed in the cab and a small rear window allows for viewing behind you. On the back is a wagon style steel bed. This is painted black and shows some surface rust and peeling paint. The actual bed floor is wood and has also been painted black, but does present with some loss of paint and wood aging.
Interior
Inside the wood cab we see a single furring strip crossing the roof framing and little else. This floats above a bench seat which has a black padded cushion for the driver and a missing lower cushion for the passenger. The floorboards, (literally), cover the bottom of the dash front. The dash is very simple with the ignition box and steering column coming out to reach for the driver. These early Fords are a trick to drive with the 3 pedal setup, which this truck has. Starting involves the turn of a key, then trudge outside to the front, where you will need to crank it to start it.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a standard 177ci 4 banger flat head mill. It codes out from 1925 and could be the original engine. There is a 1-barrel carburetor feeding it fuel, and a 2 speed planetary drive and 5.17 geared rear axle.
Undercarriage
With no undercarriage photos available it's tough to say what is solid and what isn't. From a visual perspective we note a solid frame and transverse leaf springs front and rear. A braking band in the transmission brings the car to a stop and should an emergency arise, the parking brake operates the rear mechanical drum brakes.
An example of early pickup trucking, and the forefather to a Ford dynasty of trucks which goes on even today. Ford sells more trucks than cars, and an F150 is the best selling vehicle in the US. Quite the morsel of history here ripe for the picking. Ready to be brought back to life as a show winner or a great promotional piece for your business. The sky's the limit with this one.
