This 1975 Excalibur Phaeton Series III is a striking neo-classical beauty finished in a Signal Red and Ruby Red two-tone combination, complemented by a luxurious black leather interior. Built on a Corvette chassis, the Series III features 4-wheel independent suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes for superior handling and performance. Under the hood, you’ll find a Chevrolet 454ci High-Output V8 engine paired with a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission and a 2.73 Posi-Traction rear end, offering impressive power and smooth driving.
This car comes equipped with a long list of features and options, including:
This Excalibur has been meticulously cared for by its owner since 2002, stored in a climate-controlled collection alongside other exceptional Excalibur models. Just prior to the current owner’s purchase, the car received a custom machine-turned aluminum dash, featuring new Classic Instruments gauges and aircraft-inspired toggle switches for controlling accessories. As a result, this car is mileage-exempt.
The Excalibur is in remarkable condition, showing only minor signs of being driven. It comes with its original auxiliary hard top, factory-fitted side curtains, and a formal cabin tonneau cover. All interior features and gauges, including the air conditioning, are fully operational. This model is one of only 82 Excalibur Phaetons produced in 1975, and as of 2007, it became eligible for AACA 2nd generation classification.
History of the Excalibur Automobile Corp.: Excalibur was founded by industrial designer Brook Stevens, whose career spanned over 60 years. A passionate car enthusiast and former designer at Studebaker, Stevens created the Excalibur in the early 1960s alongside his sons. The Excalibur Automobile Corp. was established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the cars were completely factory-built, never offered in kit form. The bodies were hand-laid fiberglass, twice as thick as a Corvette’s for added strength, with aluminum hood panels. Combining modern drivetrain and chassis components with styling inspired by the rare Mercedes SSK, Excalibur cars quickly became iconic.
This 1975 Excalibur Phaeton is a stunning example of automotive craftsmanship, offering timeless style and modern performance.

Is this car still available and would you consider a trade? Have a 1946 Ford Tudor Street Rod.
Is remains available to purchase as of this morning. It is being offered for the current owner of 23 years, and he is not looking for any trades to part ways with it. As for the museum inventory itself, we do take some trades, but street rods have to check a lot of boxes for serious consideration. You are welcome to send pictures and details of your 1946 Ford directly to [email protected] for further review. Thanks!
