1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible with 389 Tri-Power V8 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission. It features a console, vacuum gauge, working factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power top, and a 3.23 Safe-T-Track rear end. Comes with PHS paperwork.
According to the Pontiac Historical Services documents that accompany this car, when this 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible was delivered new, it was equipped with a four-barrel 389 engine mated to an automatic transmission, 3.23 Safe-T-Track rear axle, power steering, power brakes, rally clock, optional console with vacuum gauge, and air conditioning. It wore Montero Red paint with a black bucket seat interior, which is the same color combination it still sports today.
The 1966 GTO is a fantastic car that has been tastefully enhanced in just the right areas to make owning and driving this muscle machine classic even more enjoyable. The top of the list is the addition of the legendary Tri-Power triple two-barrel carburetion system, a mechanical symphony of sound that defines why so many enthusiasts love the GTO. Other welcome upgrades include a TH350 Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and an aluminum radiator to keep things cool. The thoughtful pairing of the Tri-Power and 3-speed automatic significantly adds to this classic GTO’s performance and drivability.
The correct Montero Red paint is deep and glossy, contrasting beautifully with the black bucket seat interior and power-operated top. Adding to this Pontiac’s handsome good looks is a set of highly desirable Pontiac Rally I wheels wrapped with Redline bias ply tires that capture the classic muscle car look. This is a fun, good-looking car with great options!
