This 1963 Studebaker Avanti is one of 1,833 R2 variants produced for the 1963 and 1964 model years and is powered by a V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission. The car has been refinished in a bronze metallic paint over beige upholstery, and additional equipment includes 15″ Torq Thrust-style wheels, power-assisted steering and front disc brakes, a dual exhaust system, and a Studebaker push-button radio. The car was refurbished under prior ownership and was acquired by the selling dealer in March 2023. This Avanti is now offered by the selling dealer in New York with spare and removed parts, a fire extinguisher, an emergency jack, related literature, an Owner’s Guide, service records, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The fiberglass body was refinished in a bronze metallic paint under prior ownership, and exterior details include chrome bumpers, “Supercharged” fender badging, a driver-side mirror, and dual polished exhaust outlets. Scratches and paint chips are depicted in the photo gallery below as well as close-up images detailing lighting, badging, and trim.
Torq Thrust-style 15″ wheels are finished in gray with bright lips and are mounted with 225/75 Cornell 1000 front- and 255/60 Futura rear tires. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in beige upholstery along with a color-coordinated dash covering, door panels, and center console. Appointments include hand-crank side windows, lap belts, an ashtray, beige Avanti-branded floor mats, and a Studebaker push-button radio. Wear is present on the headliner and rear trim panels.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts Stewart Warner instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 3,800 miles and true mileage is unknown.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
Documentation accompanying the car includes related literature, a Studebaker Owner’s Guide, and service records that are said to date back to 1974.
The Pennsylvania title carries an “Antique” brand.
