This custom 1961 Ford Galaxie Coupe features a rebuilt and chromed-out 390CI engine with a new Quick Fuel Technology carb, custom chrome valve covers, and a chrome air filter, all set in a spotless engine bay. It’s paired with an automatic transmission and a Lokar floor shifter. This was the final year for the classic rear fins on the Galaxie model.
A Florida car for the past three years, it has received numerous upgrades. The custom brown metallic paint is in excellent condition, complemented by a well-preserved bench seat interior with a console and cup holders. The dash is beautifully painted and fitted with Pro-Comp Ultra Lite gauges for water temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. A stock-style AM/FM stereo is also installed.
The body panels align well, and the chrome and stainless trim along the sides, trunk lid, and rear fenders are in excellent shape. Modern enhancements include power electric steering, power brakes, and recently added Vintage Air conditioning. The trunk is clean with a full mat, spare tire, and jack equipment.
The engine has been further upgraded with aluminum heads, a mild cam, and a Gear Vendor kit, giving the transmission a fourth overdrive gear. A new chrome serpentine belt drives all engine components. The newer exhaust system features electric cutouts, allowing you to switch up the sound at the push of a button. It runs through 2.5-inch pipes with Gibson chrome tips exiting the rear.
The front suspension has adjustable coilovers, and the car is equipped with slotted rotors, Wilwood disc brakes, and custom Ridler wheels wrapped in new Sumitomo HTR ZII tires. The car runs, drives, and handles beautifully. A horn kit and cover for the GT steering wheel will be installed before the sale.
This Galaxie comes with a full cover, is stored in Massachusetts, and has a clean title in the owner’s name.
