1961 Chevrolet Impala SS? 348 V-8 Bubble Top. DGC2963 VIN. 11837L182963. This is a full frame off restoration. It’s a beautiful car. I don’t know about you but I have not seen many. The man I bought it from feels that it is a very early SS used as a promo car but he could not prove it. You see photos of when he bought the Impala and you can see (not very well) you can see the emblems and the fact that it was not taken care of very well leads me to believe the owner would not have installed the emblems? He bought it in 1990, hauled it home, and after 11 years finished the restoration. He tried to keep it factory correct. Even has bias ply tires.
Interesting point the antenna is on the right front fender from the factory not on the rear fender. When he was painting the inner fenders he painted them gloss black instead of flat black he liked the looks and I agree. He chromed the valve covers and the air cleaner. He tried to keep the original carb but it was giving him trouble so he installed an Edelbrock. The left rear fender down, low at the back, had a bad spot so it was cut out and new metal welded in. Power glide transmission. Power steering.
