This 1954 Kaiser Darrin Sports Roadster is a beautifully restored American classic, perfect for summer cruising. Finished in striking Red Sail with a black vinyl interior and a matching 3-position convertible top, it’s one of the rarest and most iconic American sports cars ever built—just 435 were produced.
Born from a bold attempt to revitalize Kaiser after WWII, the Darrin featured cutting-edge styling for the era, including a fiberglass body and its famous sliding doors that disappear into the front fenders. Designed by the legendary Howard “Dutch” Darrin and built on the Henry J chassis, it was Kaiser’s answer to the Corvette and Thunderbird.
Under the hood is a 161.1 cubic inch F-head “Hurricane” inline-six paired with a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive, delivering 90 horsepower and a smooth, enjoyable driving experience. It features a single-barrel carburetor, single exhaust, and rides on whitewall tires with wire wheel covers bearing Kaiser emblems.
This example comes from a Southern collector who maintained it with care. The black vinyl interior, sliding doors, padded dash, and instrument cluster are all in great condition. It includes a 120 MPH speedometer, 6,000 RPM tachometer, and full auxiliary gauges. Chrome trim and brightwork are clean and complete throughout.
A rare blend of beauty, innovation, and history, this Kaiser Darrin is a standout collector’s piece that runs and drives as good as it looks. A true piece of American automotive history.
