This 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible is a rare triple black muscle car with standout options and solid documentation. With fewer than 3,000 convertibles produced that year, it’s a highly desirable piece of Oldsmobile performance history.

Born from Oldsmobile’s response to the muscle car boom of the 1960s, the 442 evolved from a performance package into a full-fledged model. By 1970, it had reached peak form, powered by a massive 455 cubic inch V8—arguably the last of the true muscle-era 442s before emissions regulations dulled the fun. This example has been upgraded with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Offenhauser intake and is mated to a smooth Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Dual exhaust with trumpet tips gives it that unmistakable muscle car rumble.

Finished in correct Ebony Black paint with white decals on the W25 hood scoops, the car has a bold presence. It rides on Super Stock II wheels wrapped in raised-letter BFGoodrich Radial T/As for a classic, aggressive look. The black vinyl power top works flawlessly and shows great.

Inside, the luxury continues with black Strato-bucket seats and a center console. The interior is clean and well-preserved with stock touches like the Custom-Sport steering wheel, burl grain dash inserts, and a full gauge setup including a 120 MPH speedometer, clock, and warning lights. An AM/FM push-button radio and locking glove box finish off the dash.

It also comes with power steering, power front disc brakes, rear drums, and its original Protect-O-Plate and build sheets. With just the right mix of muscle and comfort, this 1970 Olds 442 Convertible is a show-worthy cruiser that’s ready for the road or your collection.
