1964 Pontiac GTO Sport Coupe. Numbers matching 389CI with tri-power carb setup with 4 Speed manual transmission and 72,555 Original miles. This 1964 Pontiac GTO Sport Coupe was originally sold by Balch Motor Sales in Warehouse Point, Connecticut back in December 1963. It remained in Connecticut until the current seller acquired it and brought it to Massachusetts in 2019.
The car boasts a striking aquamarine exterior with matching aqua vinyl upholstery. The GTO package adds dual hood scoops and distinctive GTO badges. Classic quad headlamps, chrome bumpers, and bright-finished rocker-panel and wheel-well trim.
Under the hood, you’ll find a powerful rebuilt 389ci V8 engine with Tri-Power carb set-up and paired with a four-speed manual transmission with Hurst Shifter. Notable features include power steering, power assisted front disc brakes and a nice sounding dual exhaust system. The car rides on stock Rally-style 14-inch wheels with chrome trim rings and radial red-line tires.
Inside the cabin offers front bucket seats upholstered in the same aqua-colored vinyl as the rear bench. The dashboard, headliner, and door panels all coordinate with the upholstery. Additional highlights include a 7,000-rpm factory tachometer and an aftermarket push-button AM/FM radio. Engine rebuild was completed by North Shore Performance of Ipswich, Massachusetts in August 2021, at which time the Tri-Power induction system was installed. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that was reportedly installed at the same time as engine rebuild. The rear differential has a 3.23:1 gear ratio. Some minor surface rust is noted on some underbody components.
This well-documented GTO Sport Coupe comes with PHS Automotive Services documents, manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, and the original ownership documentation including a copy of a Pontiac production manifest contained in a binder of documentation that includes a copy of the car’s December 1963–issued Connecticut title. Clean Massachusetts title in the owner’s name.
