Production Breakdown
Total Z4C 35th Anniversary Camaro production stands at 3,369 units, split between 1,971 T-top coupes and 1,398 convertibles, with 3,000 for the U.S. market and 369 staying in Canada.
As for transmissions, there were 943 Z4C auto/T-top and 789 auto/convertibles built for a total of 1,723. And there were 1,037 6-speed/T-top and 609 six-speed/convertibles, for a total of 1,646. Two of the Z4Cs built were labeled non-saleable. One Z4C 35th Anniversary convertible was retained in the GM Heritage collection.
One of Chevrolet’s longest-running model series, aside from the Corvette, is the performance-inspired Camaro. From its debut in 1967 to compete with the popular Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Camaro was an instant success among car buyers. Camaros showcased shapely lines and a curvy body, combining the look of muscle and sports cars. This design remained true for the Camaro through its unbroken run of 35 years until Chevrolet ended its production in 2002 with the 4th generation design.
To commemorate the occasion, a special 35th Anniversary Edition was created, all painted Bright Rallye Red with Silver Heritage Stripes that transition to checkered flags on the hood and trunk. To ensure collectability, only 3,000 were produced, making the 35th Anniversary models very desirable. Of those, only 1,398 were manufactured as convertibles.
2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible 35th Anniversary Edition with just 312 pampered miles from new and is fully loaded with factory options. Under the hood lies the powerful 5.7L aluminum V8, producing a robust 325 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Standard equipment includes power 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, power rack & pinion steering, stainless steel exhaust, SS black machine-faced wheels, engine monitoring system, Pass-Key II theft deterrent system, tilt steering wheel, tinted glass, power folding top, body-colored sport mirrors, SS and 35th Anniversary emblems, Monsoon audio with a 12-disc CD player, interior floor mats, and more.
This car comes with the following package options:
Preferred Equipment Group:
SS Performance/Appearance Package: $3,625
35th Anniversary Special Edition: $2,500
Remote 12-disc CD changer: $595
Additional features include a HURST short throw shifter and an SLP Dual Dual Performance exhaust system. It is one of just 789 convertibles produced with a six-speed manual transmission. The sale includes two sets of keys and fobs, the owner’s manual, and all paperwork from the day it was sold on 03/29/2002.
